Jim Dingwall 10k

It soon came the time to walk to the start line and at 9:06 am, the race began with a good sized field, it soon became clear that by mile 1 I was going to find it hard going to get a PB.

About quarter of the of a mile into the 2nd I just gave up on a PB as I was finding it hard to keep going in the heat and with no one around me I just settled to get round in a race best. I just kept plodding along until just after the small loop (at least this year I didn’t get lapped).

I got to 5km and thought I couldn’t really be bothered to carry on but I did anyway eventually I reached the 8km point and thought I’ll put some effort in to finish better but as I reached that little uphill section in which I ended up walking up, as I approached the 9km point a marshal from Humber triathletes ran with me back to the finish where I collected water bottle and I finished 209th in again for the 2nd year in a row, but I got a race best by 2:45 mins.
